Thai Peanut Sauce


This peanut sauce is perfect for dipping chicken satay, drizzling on a fresh roll, or tossing with your favorite noodles.

For additional flavor and texture, pan-roast 1/4 cup of raw peanuts over low heat for 20 minutes. Smash in a mortar or food processor and add to the sauce.
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. fish sauce
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. minced ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp. (or more) red chile flakes
  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium sauce pan, adding the water last. Heat on medium until the sauce begins to bubble and thicken. Taste and adjust as needed by adding more sugar, lime juice, or chili flakes.
  2. Serve hot or cold.
  3. This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
