All-American 4th of July Menu

lThe 4th of July is just one week away! So hang up the flag, wipe off the picnic table, and get ready to celebrate with a traditional American back yard party!

“Chicago-style” Hot Dogs

“Hat dawg, please, and drag it thru da garden!”  If you want to make a real authentic Chicago-Style Dog, you will need Sport Peppers and Chicago Style relish. Out west, they are hard to find so order now from Amazon: Vienna Chicago Style Relish  and VIENNA ® SPORT PEPPERS.

Perfect Potato Salad

This is a classic American potato salad – eggs, celery, onions, potatoes and a creamy dressing made with mayo and yellow mustard.  Make it a day or two ahead of time and refrigerate until serving. Hint: read How to Make Perfect Hardboiled Eggs before you get started!

Bachelor’s Baked Beans

These beans get their sweet flavor from pineapple and brown sugar, and their spice from onions, garlic, and BBQ sauce. Everyone loves this recipe! So get out your can opener… this only takes a few minutes to assemble.  Freeze half if you aren’t cooking for a big crowd.

Coleslaw with Sweet Buttermilk Dressing

Most coleslaw turns into soup after a few hours, but not this recipe.

You can make it up to three days ahead of time. It goes great with hot dogs and burgers.

Strawberry Limeade

A fun summer drink the kids will love! It also makes the perfect summer cocktail. Just add vodka. Something for everyone!

Blend up a batch before the party starts and  pour over ice to serve.

Mini Apple Pies with Crumb Topping

These little pies are easy to make with refrigerated pie dough. Serve them warm  with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a  drizzle of caramel sauce.

Bake them the night before and
reheat before serving.
